Which FIXTURE would be most suitable for your greenhouse?
When considering the purchase of a good greenhouse or garden pavilion, we all inevitably think about how to securely attach it to the ground.
Possible variants are: either with a base frame on the ground , foundation, stone surface or wooden terrace.
No matter which greenhouse you choose, it still needs to be FIRMLY FIXED TO THE GROUND SIDE. This is needed above all to ensure stability . The greenhouse must also be attached to a properly chosen base so that it does not take the wind down and “do not fly away”.
There are many aspects to consider before making a decision:
1. Which option is best suited to the soil of your chosen location?
– whether the soil is dry or wet
– whether the soil is rocky or muddy
– how much of the soil is soil and how high is sand
– whether the selected location is in an open field or near trees and bushes
2. How much investment are you ready to make?
– If the base frame is included as a standard equipment of the greenhouse – the only cost is to dig holes in the soil and concrete the legs of the frame into them. If it is not included as standard equipment, a base frame is still available as an additional equipment in most high-quality greenhouses.
– Construction of the base frame from wooden scraps. The wood will definitely beat the impregnated entity, then it will last longer.
– The cost of building the foundation is slightly higher, it depends on its required height and building materials.
– The laid stone surface will be very beautiful and correct, but its preparation and construction is a bit more expensive due to the volume of work and material consumption.
– It is also possible to make a stone surface plus a foundation. It will definitely make your greenhouse look its most luxurious and spacious.

BASE FRAME OF THE GREENHOUSE – concreting with feet into the ground
In many greenhouses, it is possible to buy a base frame with legs . The lower ends of the legs are bent apart and placed in pre- excavated holes and cemented into place. Soil is placed on top. It is recommended to let the concrete stand for a few days and solidify properly. At this point, it is important to make sure that the base frame remains level and that the diagonals are equal.
After that, the base frame is ready for installing the greenhouse.
The fastening will definitely remain very strong and will not let the wind blow the house away.
Dry, strong and firm ground is a prerequisite for ground installation with the base frame. Later, if desired, a stone or wooden floor can also be laid in or around the greenhouse.
BASE FRAME OF WOODEN BUILDING FOR GREENHOUSE – fixing to the ground
If your greenhouse does not have a metal base frame, it is also possible to make it from wood shavings . The brushes must be impregnated so that they last a long time.
There are at least two ways to attach the base frame made of wood shavings:
– The base frame made of wood chips is attached to the ground with foundation screws at the corners and in the middle of the longer sides. With this method, the base frame stays firmly in place, and if the greenhouse is firmly and well attached to it, it will not “fly” anywhere.
– The base frame made of wood chips is attached to foundation posts concreted into the ground. Metal or plastic pipes are dug into the ground and concreted at all four corners. The base frame, in turn, is attached to the posts attached to the ground.
FIXING THE GREENHOUSE ON A STONE SURFACE OR A WOODEN FLOOR
A stacked stone surface or a wooden terrace is ideal for people who prefer to turn their greenhouse into a place for recreation and leisure. However, this certainly does not exclude the cultivation of plants. This can also be done very successfully in a plant pot and on shelves .
Rather, this kind of gardening has become more and more popular. The greenhouse is no longer used only for growing plants, but as a way out of everyday life and stress, and is designed more as a place of rest. Keeping a greenhouse has become a pleasant hobby and pastime. And as a result , attractive, comfortable and eye-pleasing models are increasingly desired.
FIXING THE GREENHOUSE TO THE FOUNDATION
In order for your greenhouse to last a long time, for the doors and windows to move easily and for the rainwater to run in the right direction, it needs a proper foundation.
The foundation is primarily to ensure stability, to maintain resistance to frost heave and soil subsidence.
In order to get a very good, perhaps lifelong foundation, we definitely recommend pouring it properly from concrete. This eliminates any possibility of it shifting during frosts, and the greenhouse always stays firmly in place.
The tape foundation made of Fibo blocks may not move with good and suitable soil (the surface should not be clayey in this case).
In both cases, it is possible to finish the floor of the greenhouse from the inside: for example, with stone tiles or a wooden plank floor.
With a proper foundation, the greenhouse can also be securely installed on a more difficult surface (wet or muddy).
However, all of the aforementioned types of foundation and anchoring are good and may be suitable. It all depends on your soil, the type and weight of your greenhouse, and your budget.
